The National Commission for Academic Accreditation & Assessment granted the College of Dentistry and the College of Nursing the Program Accreditation. The programs of both the College of Dentistry and the College of Nursing are among the first programs to achieve program accreditation in the University. The programs were reviewed by the NCAAA’s review panel from the 30th of April to the 5th of May 2016 (23-28 Rajab, 1437 AH). The accreditation was granted after the programs of both colleges completed all the requirements and standards of the Institutional Academic Accreditation and meet the quality standards.

The President of the University Dr. Abdullah Al Rubaish stated that “the academic accreditation has an impact on all those affiliated with the colleges and Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University either from faculty, students and staff members and it instills in them a feeling of belonging, increases job satisfaction, high morale and a sense of professional responsibility. And for the society; accreditation attracts qualified personnel and prospective students to the University. Accreditation also brings high satisfaction levels of beneficiaries and provides excellent service whether they were students, parents or organizations and institutions. It also gives greater confidence to the University by those in charge of education, society and the country which distinguishes the University faculty, students, staff, activities and services and reflects on the degrees awarded by the university which encourages further development, improvement, keeping up with technological advances in educational techniques which makes the University’s graduates a target for the labor market.
Dr. Al Rubaish added that “the accreditation of these programs was according the timetable prepared by the University and approved by the University council on December 28, 2015. The National Commission for Academic Accreditation & Assessment has been briefed about this plan to review 59 academic programs for academic accreditation in the period from 2016-2021 (1437-1442 A.H). Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal gained full and unconditional Institutional Academic Accreditation from the NCAAA in 1436 A.H and have been working since then towards overcoming new challenges. The University is expecting the visit of the external review panel after the submission of the self-study reports for five other programs which are: the Medicine Program, the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program, the Respiratory Care Program, the History and Islamic studies Program.

Dr. Fahad Al Harbi, Dean of the College of Dentistry stated that “the College of Dentistry at the University of Dammam is the third college of Dentistry to be established in Saudi Arabia, and despite being new, the college was able with God’s guidance and the continuous support from the administration of the University to make its way towards excellence in Dentistry and Dental education and to reach the aspirations of the officials. The college is continuously making a great effort to achieve quality standards, to be highly reliable and encourage scientific research and activities.”

Dr. Elham Al Ateeq, the Dean of the College of Nursing expressed her happiness with the accreditation which is a result of the joint efforts of all college staff under the directions of the University administration.

The University Vice President for Studies, Development and Community Service Dr. Abdullah Al Kadi praised the outstanding efforts made by these colleges and deans which had a great impact in achieving the accreditation, and the university achievements will continue due to its qualified and trained cadres who aim to excellence and quality.

The General Supervisor of the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation Dr. Ahmad Al- Kuwaiti mentioned that “the Deanship has become a model to be followed by Saudi universities, and a destination frequented by researchers from many national universities to benefit from and he also expressed his delight with this achievement and wished success to all.
