UoD’s first Book Exhibition witnessed the arrival of 2500 visitors during a three day period. The exhibition was organized by the Vice Deanship of Female Student Affairs in the University Campus in Al Rakah.  A number of specialized publishing houses participated in the exhibition.

Dr. Samar Ba-Raiyan, Vice Dean of Female Student Activity Affairs in the Deanship of University Studies mentioned that “The exhibition had a great turnout either from students or faculty members because it was meant to be a platform for students to benefit from and to affirm the importance of books and their impact on spreading awareness either in a university or in a community as a whole.
The exhibition included a book signing event for Noura Al Khaldi and Reem Al Shimmary two of UoD’s students and writers. The signing event was attended by students and faculty members. As well as that the exhibition consisted of a number of booths which were prepared by students, such as; the Calligraphy booth, Zajal Group for Book Wrapping, a booth which displays the history of printing, and a booth for typing on mugs.
Furthermore, our quest during this exhibition was to spread knowledge among our students and members of the University in order to achieve scientific and literary superiority and to pass on a message; that a university is an intellectual platform to exchange knowledge and education.
